I am my midterm review...
Man, has it been six months already? WOW. It's funny that some of the thoughts that came through my mind during the whirlwind that was our wedding preparations was that things would be much easier once we were married...timewise. I didn't have to go back home after we hung out, all of our stuff would be at the same place, we'd have dinner together, go to bed together, wake up together. But man, it seems that it's not quite that simple these days...my commute is much longer than hers that I wake up almost 2 hours before she gets up, and then we both get home pretty late that our dinners are usually not until around 8 or even 9PM, which barely gives us time to do much else before hitting the sack. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade it for the world...I am very happy w/ my new life and I cherish every minute of it; I just didn't expect to have to adjust my schedule so much. I'm actually DOING less these days than I have in the past, and feel like I have even less time. Factor in the new change of work schedule...I started a 9/80 schedule at work, plus my 1+ hour commute each way, I'm gone from the house for about 11 hours a day...so that's gonna take some getting used to. I've only been at it for a month so far. I guess it's just the next step in the growing up process...like when I graduated from high school and started going to college; I had to get used to a totally different way to do things, and a completely different schedule.
So obviously, I'm married now, he he he. It's been oh...tomorrow will mark 4 months officially. I would recount the big day but it seriously goes by SO much faster than everyone who told us it was gonna go by fast, he he he. There will definitely be pictures sprouting up here and there, so I'll let those come as they will. But so far, It's been awesome and we're learning as we go. One of the biggest things we've been up to so far has been making the house suitable for hosting, he he he. We have so much junk and stuff all around that it all needed to be organized and put in order so that we can have a designated office, guestroom, etc. Also got Direct TV with Sunday Ticket, so we'll prob be getting a bbq grille soon too, he he he. It's fun to actually work on a home I know I'll be living in for a while...makes me look forward to it.
Anyway, just wanted to stretch the writing muscles...hopefully I can get myself up to writing again more consistently.
Quote of the day
"My father taught me to work, but not to love it. I never did like to work, and I don't deny it. I'd rather read, tell stories, crack jokes, talk, laugh -- anything but work.
